Donna, Texas is a town in Hidalgo County, one of the
Southern-most and rapidly growing counties in the state.
With the recent opening of the
Donna/Rio Bravo
International Bridge as a segue into Mexico, Donna
has gained increased attention from much of the populous.
With regard to trade, commerce and business, Donna has
enjoyed recent attention due the opening of a Walmart
Supercenter in its borders. The opening of a
Love's Truck Stop and several other commercial ventures
in the city make it a prime location for new enterprise
and commerce.
Developments and growth have spurred city, county, state
and federal governments to plan for accelerated
expansion in the area.
Donna and its citizenry come into play with the slated
construction
of a new highway, State Highway 68, to begin
construction soon.
With plans in progress to connect Interstate 2 to
Interstate 69 from Donna to Northern Hidalgo County,
Donna seems set for rapid growth.
The ≈14 acres
presently being offered for sale by Valley Real Estate
Co. are located close to the projected path of the new
State Highway 68.
This rerouting of highways and roads in the area will
most likely cause a spike in land values in Donna.
